Dear Facebook Moms of the World,
As a woman who (as of now) does not plan to bring a miniature person into the world,
and endure all the "most rewarding motherly experiences" you speak so highly of,
perhaps my sensitivity level to your plight of rewarding motherhood is not... optimal.
But please, remember, some of your rewarding motherly moments should stay between you and your miniature person.
For example:
-Birth photos featuring blood/puss/goo/cords
-Photos where your miniature person's "goods" are on display
-Photos of your miniature person's first poo poo in the potty
-Photos of the stick you peed on to give you the exciting news
-Photos of you breastfeeding your miniature person
I'm sure all of these moments are important to you and your miniature person,
but not to me, the girl who sat behind you on the bus in middle school.
Thanks for keeping that in mind.
Love this!!! Kids are going to grow up resenting how their first doo doo was captured on camera!! LOL
ReplyDeleteUgh, can we do another list on women who blog? It's like the minute they find out they're pregnant their blogs turn into all about their pregnancy. I've had to stop following some awesome blogs because I seriously hate reading day after day about them being pregnant. It's find every now and again but every day? Annoying.
ReplyDeleteWhew! I am glad that I'm getting some back-up here, and not the dreaded, "When you're a mother, you'll understand!"
ReplyDeleteAMEN. Those kids will not want their lives for the world to see aired some day.
ReplyDeleteHahaha!
ReplyDeleteDoes this mean I can't post those adorable pics of my miniature person (you) in the tub??
ReplyDeleteOh, and when you're a mother you'll understand. Or should I say IF you're a mother you'll understand. (Sorry, I couldn't resist.)
Love you!
No, mom, because that's the point. No one wants to see those pictures but you. And IF I'm ever a mom, I don't think I'll assume the world wants to see every photo ever taken of my kid.
ReplyDeleteAnd before you call me a hypocrite, puppies are different.
Funny post! It's so true. I try to keep my kids personal stuff off my blog...because I know no one will want to see or hear about it! LOL
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for your nice comment on my blog!
Actually, I also don't want to see any of those things about your puppy.
ReplyDeleteAmen, sister. I'm so glad FB wasn't around when I was a baby...
ReplyDeleteWhat about moms who blog and when we shop (with you) bitch about how unrewarding motherhood actually is?
ReplyDeletePS I cant wait till your Asian baby girl ( who is already potty trained ) gets here by UPS.
