There are two main reason why I have started hoarding nail polish.
1) Pinterest
2) Couponing
Oh, Pinterest, you and your plethora of pics of perfectly pristine polishes on yet-to-be-discovered hand models who happen to blog. I can't help but want all the pretty colors.

And coupons, seriously, I get five makeup coupons per week. I am not a huge makeup junkie-- I stick with the basics-- and I don't want to buy a mascara a week even if it IS a steal. So I've been buying nail polish because it's a darn good investment (right?) and I've been painting my nails a new shade pretty much every other day.
I stick with drugstore brands (mainly Revlon, Sally Hansen, and Rimmel) because them faaancy brands be too spensive, and no coupons obviously. Plus, of the Essie polishes I've bought in the past, my polish chipped within a day. I wish I had something bad to say about OPI, but alas, I don't. I just can't bring myself to cough up the dough They have some beautiful colors-- I especially love the one above. I found a similar color from Sally Hansen-- Forbidden Fudge. If they still make it, I'm definitely going to pick one up.

Oh my goodness I am addicted to nail polish! I love it all!! I own over 80 bottles (which is so embarrassing but I am just addicted!)
ReplyDeleteObsessed with Essies Mint Candy Apple, Chinchilly and Tart Deco!!!
ReplyDeleteWow Staley! I have about 20 and I thought I was over the top!
ReplyDeleteAl, I love Tart Deco too! I haven't tried Chinchilly but I do need a good gray color...
YES! I am right along there with ya, thanks to all the pretty nails on Pinterest! I've recently tried Essie and was totally disappointed, it was expensive and it was crap; it chipped, it was thin, and gooey. You have to checkout "Sinful Colors" nail polish, it's available at Target, Walgreens, etc. and they have awesome colors and is usually only $1.99 and works great!
ReplyDeleteI have metallic brown, teal, deep blue, and deep purple from Ulta that I love for my toes. I can't keep polish on my fingernails.
ReplyDeleteValene, I just scoped out Sinful Colors today as I happened to be at Target (really, when am I not at Target?) They have such fun bright colors!
ReplyDeleteKatie, I love Ulta colors and it sounds like I have some of the same colors as you do! I have this brownish purple metallic one called Femme Fatale and it's my absolute favorite.
