Pink, Red, Black, & White

Mr. D and I finally escaped the apartment today for a couple hours!  It was so nice to get off the couch and see actual people, even if they were strangers.

We wandered around DSW (or as I call it, Heaven) for much longer than Mr. D wanted.  Then I dragged him to my other favorite spot to browse and impulse-buy, Home Goods.  I could spend hours in that store!  Now that we're in the market for furniture, I noticed that they have great deals on all kids of pieces.  I love HG even more now, if that's possible!

At DSW, I showed Mr. D a pair of shoes that, in the event he couldn't think of anything to get me on his own, would make a lovely Valentine's Day present:
They are too cute, and when I tried them on, all I could think about was summer!
And really, pink shoes?  Are so me.

When we got to Home Goods, I couldn't resist picking up a couple cheerful, yet random, kitchen items.
Like this cherry-red enamel colander.  Mr. D is all about red kitchens... and I'm less thrilled about the idea.  So I thought red accents might be a nice compromise.  It would make a nice fruit bowl on my butcher block island (that doesn't yet exist!) in the BDH.

I also couldn't pass up this cake stand.  I am a huge fan of cake, and a huge fan of grosgrain ribbon.  Sold.

We close on the BDH in two weeks from today!
