This Weekend's Progress

I'm a little disappointed because I wanted to have a finished product to show for this weekend's efforts.

Well, the living room paint job is complete, if you want to count that.

The dining room needed a second coat, and I couldn't resist taking just a little peek at what it looks like under the miles of painters tape:

I'm not sure I love this gray color.  It's a little too dark, in my opinion.  Once we get some furniture and decor in the room, it might change my feelings.

And now, onto the cabinets:

Mr. D started painting the cabinets white, while I got started with the beadboard wallpaper.

(I wasn't very good at measuring.)

It took longer than I wanted, but all 26 cabinet doors got wallpapered!

Next week, they'll get painted white and rehung.  I'll also get started on the master bedroom.

In the meantime, I'm looking for inspiration for countertops and backsplashes.  Any ideas?

  2. Love the yellow family room, and I think the gray and white in the dining room will look very elegant when it's all tricked out with furniture and rugs etc. And those cabinets are going to be gorgeous! You guys work fast!

  3. Hey, just thought I'd drop in after you commented on my blog and all I can say is WOW! I'm so jealous you are painting your cabinets! Ours are awful, but we don't want to paint until we are ready to tear out our counters! I love the grey in the dining room, particularly paired with the crisp whites!

  5. I love what you're doing with your house. You've inspired me to update my cabinet doors with a router and beadboard wallpaper rather than replace them all together. I'm excited to read up on your progress!

And thank you for stopping by my blog! I'm excited to read in return!
