Being in the new house, and unpacking my wardrobe, I notice a slight imbalance.
My wardrobe is about 80% fall/winter, and 20% spring/summer.
I'm not at all shocked at this. I love being covered! I love layers and all their figure forgiveness!
Spring and summer, especially in recent years, have disappointed me by providing very little structure in clothing construction. It's hard to have a large chest and wear something with a boxy construction-- it makes me look big everywhere else, too!
But, having scanned a lot of beautiful pieces across assorted blogs, I'm determined now to try and balance out my wardrobe with some of the more structured pieces for spring.
I love Ann Taylor Loft for a lot of reasons.
1) I get great customer service EVERY SINGLE TIME. Someone opens up a dressing room for me without my asking, someone tells me about a promotion, someone compliments my selection. I don't get that in many other stores these days.
2) They send me coupons like crazy. Their 50% purchase promotions are the best. I get my entire season's worth of staples there.
3) They make clothes that fit real women well, that real women can afford.
I looked through some of their spring offerings, and here are a few of the pieces I really want, to make my wardrobe 50-50!
Breezy Petals Dress
Accentuates the waist. Thank you. And I love the pretty petals!
Basket Weave Scarf in Coral
Can "spring" up some of my more season-neutral pieces.
Dark Wash Boyfriend Shorts
I have been dying to try on a pair of shorts like this. Don't know if they'll work for me, but it's worth a shot. They look so comfy!
Chiffon Cluster Flower Tee
I just love the color contrast. I have other petal tees from Loft and they stand up just fine in the washer and dryer.
Long Necklace with Peach Bow
Looks strikingly similar to many, many J. Crew necklaces I coveted, at about 1/4 of the cost.
Fitted Ruffle Jacket
I love jackets. I love the chiffon ruffle of this jacket-- it's unexpected and interesting but not too distracting.
Now I just have to go in and try these things on! What about you? What's on your spring wish list?

ReplyDeleteSigh... I love summer clothes. That flower T is too cute!
ReplyDeleteVery cute clothes. Like you, I have way more Winter than Summer. I just started looking around my closet and I am confused as to what I wore last year! I don't see too much of anything exciting in there.
ReplyDeleteI'm definitely going shopping this week-- I'll update if I end up with any of these pieces! :) Thanks for stopping by ladies!
ReplyDeleteI just discovered last night that you live in Fredericksburg??! I was just there a couple weeks ago for my best friend's bridal shower and I will be up there again in a couple weeks for another shower! What a small world :)
ReplyDeleteIt IS a small world Julie! I hope you're enjoying your visits! :) If you get a chance, go get some Carl's ice cream.
ReplyDeleteThat scarf is so darling and love the black tee. So cute! I can't wait to start shopping for fun spring outfits! I can wait for the swimsuits.
