I, admittedly, should be packing right now. Tomorrow is moving day-- the day when we move all our craptastic "apartment furniture" from our tiny one-bedroom to the BDH.
Does anyone else get what I mean when I say "apartment furniture?" The cheap furniture you buy that's all matchy-matchy because you can see every item in your apartment from any given space, it's just that small? The furniture you buy because "We'll get nice things when we have a house"?
Anyway, we're moving it all tomorrow. I am never motivated to pack things, despite having beautiful Nine West luggage.
Something I've been thinking about lately is curtains. I know very little about curtains, I don't know how to sew, and fabrics confuse me. I spent a little time over at Southern Living's website browsing through some ideas.
I think cafe curtains would look nice in the kitchen window above the sink.
I looove the graphic prints of these dining room curtains. I pretty much love everything about this dining room: the mismatched chairs, the floral arrangement, the wall color... Love it all.
I like the horizontal stripe on these panels. I think a thick stripe with a splash of color would look nice in the breakfast area. Maybe a darker yellow, or a light turquoise, or a bright red?
I love this tan and white print. I think it would look great in the formal living room (which will be a light sage color) and the library (which will be a dark blue color.)
In other news, Mr. D and I finally came to a decision about a bed. (Yes, we agreed on something house-related! Miraculous!) Here's what we picked:
(Sorry for the horrible picture quality!)
It's the Valencia Nail Button bed from Target. Won't it look nice against our poo-colored walls? Now if only I could decide on bedding...
Have a lovely weekend, ladies!

Love the bed! I change my choice of bedding now that I see it, number 3 for sure.
ReplyDeleteI really like your choice of bed and your walls just might grown on you. I have a similar wall color in my guest room with a slipcovered headboard in a white denim and it helps the color a lot.
ReplyDeleteI love the bed. I didn't know they had those at Target!
ReplyDeleteAnd you can totally make those cafe curtains. You might even find cute tea towels and make them out of--then there wouldn't be any sewing at all!
Hey, thanks for stopping by! I guess I found your mom's blog earlier today and now yours, how nice! I love your new house and the paint colors...how exciting for you! Can't wait to see how you decorate it, I'll be following along. Good luck with the move, Deb
ReplyDeleteI really like the cafe curtains! They would make a kitchen so cheery.

ReplyDeleteHi there. I just ordered the Valencia bed, and found your blog. How do you like it? Seems like you posted this before you received it. I'm very curious!
