When I was about 8, my grandmother bought me a pet rock.
No, really.
It was painted like an owl, and I named him Wylie. I then proceeded to build him a house out of cardboard boxes, decorate the walls with magic marker, and furnish it with my old dollhouse furniture. It was awesome. No pet rock in history has lived such a fabulous life.
This is Wylie.
About four years after I got Wylie, my grandmother passed away. But every time I see an owl, I can't help but think about my grandma.
I came out with the great idea of buying a locket and putting a picture of my grandmother in it. And then I wondered if I could find a locket with an owl on it...

What a sweet idea. My favorite is the bottom one. It is clean and classic. I do love them all though! Can't wait to see which one you choose.

ReplyDeleteAww what a great story!! My Grandmother loved owls too! She had them ALL over her house! Every time I see one I think of her. Such great memories.
ReplyDeleteTommy goes, "I remember that rock!!" I like the 2nd and 4th best- the 2nd is modern & classic, and the last one would go with anything. :) Cute idea!
