Happy Tuesday!

Taylor's topic this week is a topic I love: BOOKS!
As a literature major, I read lots of lots of books-- a couple I loved, many I loathed.
Despite lots of reading (these days mostly fun girly books, devoid of any true literary value,) my two favorite books are classics.
Macbeth
by William Shakespeare... in case you didn't know.
I looove Macbeth. I read it my senior year of high school, and it was one of the first books that made me realize that there was more to a book than just the words on the page. I also love the story. I am a classic overthinker, and Macbeth always reminds me to keep the over-analyzing to minimum to keep myself out of trouble... you know, all those pesky self-fulfilling prophecies and stuff.
Wuthering Heights
by Emily Bronte
This book is far too complicated to do a quick synopsis. The best thing about this book is that it explores pretty much every type of love: convenient but unsatisfying, to functional, to tortured soulmates. It's a difficult story to follow at times, but it's a great love story that will keep you thinking about what it really means.
I'm really looking forward to seeing what you guys love to read! Head over to Taylor's and link up!

thanks for linking up!
ReplyDeleteI love me some Shakespeare as well! I had a course in college, it really helps when you have a good professor who can break the wordiness down for you.
ReplyDeleteYou've got a new follower!
Both are classics, I enjoyed reading Wuthering Heights back in the day... but I can't say the same about Shakespeare, he's not my cup of tea
ReplyDeleteI'm not really a Shakespeare fan, but thanks for reminding me I need to read Wuthering Heights!
