Or, at least, just really, really cheap.
This is what I hauled away from Goodwill on Saturday afternoon.
The Friggin Giant Desk
This giant, well-constructed desk put me back $20. The drawers have nifty little compartments and separators built in. Right now, I think I'll stain it nearly black and add some updated hardware. It'll go in the office, probably for use by Mr. D.
The Cabinety Thing
This thing was only $10. I just loved the fleur de lis details.
I'm planning on painting this off-white and updating the hardware. Not sure where it'll end up, but I plan on keeping it in the master bedroom to store extra blankets and sheets.
The Brass Lamp
You might recognize this lamp from the above picture of The Friggin Giant Desk. I grabbed this lamp at the last minute because it's lamp shade was in decent shape. Cost=$3.
I have already given The Brass Lamp a makeover using some Rustoleum Glossy Enamel spraypaint, making it now...
The Black Lamp
Much better.
Now that I can stand looking at it, it might end up in the office.
As of now, I have 2 furniture refinishings in progress and 5 I haven't even started on. Maybe I should stop buying furniture for a couple weeks! I have a thrifting date with an old friend from high school this weekend, though, sooo chances are that my furniture collection will continue to grow.
Fun stuff! Hooray for good deals!
