Wake & Bake

Yesterday was a really bad day.

So I needed to cheer myself up today.  How do I accomplish this?

I bake!

I got up early (for Spring Break) and started working on Bakerella's Easter cupcakes.  It took forever, given that my cupcake pan only makes six at a time.  (For someone who likes baking so much, you'd think I'd at least splurge on a regular cupcake pan that holds 24.  But I haven't.)

Sadly, I couldn't find the Sour Patch Kids Straws for pastel-colored "basket handles," so I used Twizzlers instead.  That, with the Starburst jellybeans, definitely doesn't make a pastel color palette.  But, I swear the icing is light green!  Even if they aren't perfect, they're going to be deeeliiiicious.

So I got my hair cut on Tuesday evening.  As a curly-haired girl, I always turn for Carrie Bradshaw in Season 4 and 5 for spring hair inspiration.  This is my go to cut!

Worn straightish (I can't pull off stick-straight):

Worn straightened and curled:

Worn with a more natural wave:

So, here was my before: 6 months since a color, or even a trim!  Sooo embarrassing...
Frightening, no?
And after:
Forgive the weird face.  I hate taking pictures of myself.

I kept it a bit longer, because I fear having my hair shorter than shoulder-length.  I got scared that when I wear it curly, I'll look like a blonde Carrot Top.
Aside from baking and admiring my new hair, I haven't done much as far as house projects go.  But, I do have a new one on my to-do list:

Updating this china cabinet!

A lot of the boxes that still need unpacking are beautiful pieces of china and crystal that we received as wedding gifts or inherited from family.  I want it to be done so I can look at my pretty china, but at the same time, I'm really not motivated to paint it!
