What's 17 x 33?

The answer?  The amount of leaves (in gallons, because I don't know how else to calculate it) that my mother-in-law and I raked up out of the backyard last weekend.  SEVENTEEN 33-GALLON TRASH BAGS!

(Only 8.  This was taken after the first day!)

So many leaves!  Our neighbors claim that the yard hadn't been taken care of for years.  Who knows how many autumns'-worth of leaves we were raking up?!

Thankfully, the original owner put a lot of work into the backyard.  All we had to do was uncover the beautiful landscaping!

The side entrance to the backyard.  The brick to the left is a post for a gate.  Guess that's another thing to add to the "need to buy" list!

To the left of the deck.  A terraced patio and a tiki bar built at the top of the hill.

To the right of the deck.  The patio continues and then opens up onto our half-acre.  Pardon the brooms, extension cords, and cardboard boxes!

The front of the house, all mowed!

We have many many flowerbeds to plant, and I'm sure they'll make up many many future posts, but I think this is plenty of landscaping for now.

Hope you all had a lovely Wednesday!
