When is "Oops" a Good Thing?

When you find it in the Home Depot paint section.

I know I've heard bloggers mention discounted "mistake" paint, but when I stumbled upon this haven for unwanted eggshells, flats, and wood stains yesterday, I nearly peed my pants.

$5 BEHR GALLONS!

I have plenty of rooms that I haven't even started brainstorming decor ideas for.  From now on, I'm going to let the "oops" section determine undecided paint colors for me!

Behr Premium Plus Ultra Interior Eggshell in Chocolate Froth

Here's the color on the wall of one of Behr.com's sample rooms.
This could be a guest room or guest bath color.  I don't love it, because it's so light, but for $5 I'm sure I can find some use for it.

Behr Premium Plus Interior Flat Enamel in Sterling

Here it is in one of Behr's sample bathrooms:
I think this is perfect for the master bathroom, or refinishing the dresser for the master bedroom, or both!

I know this picture's a bit blurry, but I just had to show you the price tag. :)
I'm now going to visit the "oops" section on a regular basis!

Anyone else make a discount discovery this weekend?

  2. I always check out the HD paint oops section! Unfortunately, most of the colors that are mistakes at my store are pretty gross colors! haha

  3. Haha, I picked up quite a few Oops paints at HD this weekend myself. I USED to be able to pick up Oops pieces of wood, but sadly my HD stopped doing that last year. Something like the cull bin or whatever - I called it Oops wood. Haha. See if YOUR HD has it, and if it does, I will be so jealous!!

  5. We bought OOPS paint at Walmart this weekend!! I was looking for a grey color and the OOPS paint we got was kind of grey/blue. We haven't decided if we are going to keep it or not yet b/c I really wanted GREY... but the grey/blue is really pretty and it was only $5... ahh decisions decisions!
