(Did anyone else grow up listening to their mom's Billy Joel CDs? If you did, then your probably familiar with the song that will now be stuck in my head for 6 hours because of my post title...)
I was so inspired by some of the furniture refinishing posts I saw the past couple days that I thought I might share the longest.project.ever.
You might remember me mentioning this china cabinet, that my mom so graciously handed down to me.
Here's what I was up against.
And here was my inspiration for the project, from the amazingly talented Holly of Life in the Fun Lane.

After wayyy too many coats of paint, here is what the china cabinet looks like today:
The top and bottom doors are still in the garage, but I promise they look pretty good! I sprayed the ugly brass hardware with Rustoleum Hammered Pewter, so they're in good shape too.
As for the wallpapered back, here's the wallpaper I chose, after much deliberation.
Heritage Duck Egg
It'll go nicely with the gray walls and the light gray pattern on our china.
I actually didn't intend to have so much gray going on... but we'll see how it turns out.
Once the wallpaper shows up, all I have left to do is apply the wallpaper to the back, and use a sanding tool to distress the side and details on the top, and lower doors.
Thank goodness tomorrow is Friday-- this week has DRAGGED!
