Is it just me, or is this the longest week EVER?
I decided to take out some of my work frustrations on furniture!
Unfortunately, my China Cabinet Reveal totally kicked ass, and I fear that none of my future furniture makeovers will seem impressive by comparison. (Also, I'm really thinking of refinishing furniture rejects and selling them to supplement my pathetic teacher's salary. I am in love with the idea because I am in love with refinishing furniture. But I can't decide on a business name! Suggestions welcome.)
I painted The Cabinety Thing white last weekend, and decided to sand it today. This might have been a bad decision, given that I can't find any hardware to fit in those holes, and I'll probably end up using wood filler and having to sand it. ANY SUGGESTIONS about hardware you think would look good on this cabinet are appreciated! (No hardware=not an option. Those doors are hard to open.)

I also sanded the handmade beadboard chest and shelf that I got from Craigslist. I admit, it wasn't my best paint job ever (that beadboard was hard to paint, so I gave up and used spraypaint.) To make my poor paint job look more intentional, I sanded it it down on the edges for a more rustic look. It looks much better now, even though I don't have "before" photos to prove it. (Originally, the wood stain was oak-ish and the beadboard was hunter green.)
You can't really tell that I sanded it from this photo. No worries-- I'm sure I'll have more frustrations to work out tomorrow evening! (And don't you love the chalkboard? A wonderful hand-me-down from my awesome mom!)
